Takeaways
What makes art beautiful?
1. Simplicity.
2. Shapes.
3. Light, medium, dark areas.
4. Relax and have fun.
Process
1. Pick 3 colors you like plus black to darken and white to lighten.
2. Rinse brush and dab on paper towel before changing colors.
3. Touch canvas once then let dry before adding to.
4. Look at your painting to see what you feel it needs while you paint.
Mistakes are normal and add texture.
To fix, let dry 5 minutes, then start again.

Painted to Music for Dayton Classical Radio's Rising Star Silent Auction, July 2022
In May I painted to music for Dayton Classical Public Radio’s annual Rising Stars Benefit Auction on July 30, 2022.
The painting was inspired by Anne Akiko Meyers Plays 'Spiegel im Spiegel' (Mirror in Mirror) by Arvo Pärt from 'Smile'. I entitled it, “Heart Song” and depicts yearning for divine beauty.
